Apoxyomenos; The Scrapper

The Zagreb Apoxyomenos

A craotian bronze Sculprture its of an Athlete scrapping of dirt and grime from his body this a later rendition, it was made by a different sculpter then the one who made the original. It maintains the same texture throughout the body besides his hair which is very fine. It shows the work and attention to detail put into this piece.
This work is so very well sculpted, it is believed to come from the Hellinistic Period it doesnt share as many charecteristics with the Classical type. The sculpture also shows some retention of color which is impressive. It has fully shown the natural body posistion but doesnt have any clothing to depict different textures or any other people to show a personal moment. It was a very well crafted bronze sculpture...

I mean come on just look at those lips
